Connected Learning (A/M)


Course information

Connected Learning is only available for students who are officially enrolled in the Inclusion Support Program (ISP). This course provides the opportunity for students to develop the skills needed to ensure a smooth transition to post-school options and to participate in society in a meaningful and effective manner. This course is practical and functional, preparing students for life after college.

Workload expectation

The bulk of classwork and assignments will be done in class with appropriate out of class time dedicated to the completion of assignments.

Course pattern

May be available as a Minor or Major. Class is combined years 11/12 and so course pattern will be a 2-year cycle.

An Independent life

Unit descriptions

Finding Balance

Students explore the principles of good health and a balanced life in several domains. They formulate plans for developing healthy and effective habits for living their life.

Giving and Meaning

Students explore the systems within society that drive the community. They look at ways in which to improve their life and contribution to society.

Relationships and Communication

Students explore respectful relationships. They examine strategies for effective communication within different types of relationships and contexts. Students explore examples of relationships and consider communication strategies that would educate people about respectful relationships and thus enhance and improve relationships.

An Independent Life

Students explore different ideas about an independent life. Students may undertake life and work planning, including ways of managing finances, living independently, managing wellbeing and basic life skills.
