Enrolling/Transferring - ACT Public Schools

Parents/carers are welcome to apply to enrol/transfer their child at any time during the school year using an online application form. Full details are available from the Education website.


Gungahlin College Priority Enrolment Area (PEA)

Gungahlin College and Dickson College are one PEA Shared Zone. Residents of both Priority Enrolment Areas are able to apply to enrol across both Colleges.

  • Applications will be subject to available capacity and enrolment criteria.
  • Where an enrolment is not able to be accepted at a preferred site due to capacity constraints, it will be referred to the alternate College within the Shared Zone.
  • Gungahlin College is a high utilisation College and will prioritise acceptance of enrolments from within the Gungahlin region up to available capacity.

Gungahlin Suburbs: Amaroo, Bonner, Casey, Crace, Forde, Franklin, Gungahlin, Hall, Harrison, Jacka, Kenny, Mitchell, Moncrieff, Ngunnawal, Nicholls, Palmerston, Taylor, Throsby.

Dickson Suburbs: Acton, Ainslie, Braddon, Campbell, Canberra, City, Dickson, Downer, Duntroon, Fairbairn, Hackett Lyneham - including Exhibition Park in Canberra, Majura, O'Connor, Pialligo, Reid, Russell, Turner, Watson.

Enrolment for International Private Students (IPS)

Gungahlin College promotes academic excellence and provides cultural enrichment and quality care, specifically designed to meet the needs of IPS. Those who wish to enrol as an IPS at our college should contact the International Education Unit (IEU) of the ACT Education Directorate on +612 6205 9176 before commencing the enrolment process.

During the enrolment process, we will advise students on the best choice of courses and appropriate levels for their needs – whether students are planning to undertake further study in Australia or return home having been enriched with English and the experience of living in Australia.

Our IPS are supported by the College coordinator and the strong languages program consisting of English as a Second Language (ESL), Chinese, Japanese, French, German, Italian and Korean. The ACT Education Directorate offers a range of services to support the general wellbeing of students.
